I was just told that Al Palace is closed because the owners retired. Maybe that is why the website is down. Over 40 years of great food. End of an era.

T his is likely the closest facsimile of a Cantonese restaurant in the South County.after the closure of San Woo. Ni, you will not find live seafood here and lobster or Hoeduck will be out of reach. In fact, its takeout menu does not even offer Chow Fun ( minus one star?) I have not dined in for at least 5 years but the takeout dishes have been delicious. T he last order I had however had some minor but not fatal errors. I got Beef and broccoli and curry chicken when I ordered ginger beef and curry vegetable via Doordash. Another eccentricity of this place is that no one ever answers the phone regardless of the time you call. Or asked you to leave a message but you would never get a callback. I think this is very strange.

One of the best Chinese food I eaten from, went today and it was closed with a note saying they finally retired. I wish them a happy retirement and definitely will be missed.

Extremely consistent here. The food is delicious and the tastes are excellent! The old school egg rolls are so good and crunchy. The moo goo gai pan and kung poa chicken the best in The OC for sure. Very clean and quick service also.

One of our favorite spots for Chinese food. We ordered the special for 2 people. It's way more than enough food. Comes with soup and entire plate of appetizers which I thought was our food but not lol. When 3 more dishes came out I was already full. Pepper steak is always my favorite and the shrimp fried rice had big and plant of shrimp. Food is very flavorful. Price was reasonable and had enough food for leftovers for lunch the next day for two people. Place is always clean and the staff takes the time to get to know who you are so next time you come in they greet you by name. Will be back soon

My family and I have been patrons for 25+ yrs. Always authentic and tasty, we glad to have Al Palace close by. Mostly take away, but have enjoyed bringing out of town guests for a great meal. Thank you, Jon Costa Mesa

Absolutely amazing Food. I just discovered them last week. Been back 3 times since then. My favorite Chinese Soup is Wor Win Ton Soup. A one word description would be phenomenal. The best I've had. The Shrimp in Lobster is also a favorite and was completely stuffed with plump delicious Shrimp. Imagine my surprise when I realized I been at my job for 5 years now and they wer 11 minutes away and I had never heard of them. Not to mention they have been in this location for many years. Regular Rotation is an understatement. The Service is on point, the food is amazing and the small but inviting space as well as Ambiance makes you feel welcome is abundant. I already know that I'll be there in Monday when I return to work and tired of Fried Turkey and fixings. Lol. Y'all have to stop in. Oh the Special fried Rice is also very good. I'll try and get something besides the Shrimp in Lobster Sauce but I can't promise you anything. As they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Y'allhollaatchaboy! Not only will I be back, Ive been back.

This place has been here dishing it out for over forty years!!!! We have been going to this place since they opened the doors. When my dad built his company down the street on red hill and mccormick. Jim, Proprietor and family work at this location. This is the best chinese food in the area hands down, Take this from a professional chef that has been classically trained in europe and has work in three star mission and locations. Now owning my own location in Atascadero, CA I know how difficult it is to sometimes make ends meet when the economy sucks. As it does right now! If you guys are in the costa mesa area and are looking for chinese food, this is the spot guaranteed.!!! You will not be disappointed, Yesterday's lunch was absolutely fabulous, Again. And I will be going back there again on wednesday before I head north. Thank you jim, Tai And family for keeping it real for over forty years
